Gender Equality and Women’s Advancement

Gender equality is not just good for women; it is good for everyone.

While the past century saw significant progress towards a more equal society, a great deal of work remains. Employers still pay women less and system barriers exclude them from positions of power. This ensures that society continues to overlook women and the issues affecting them.

The Women’s Organisation are committed to changing that.

We aim to inspire greater gender equality from the grassroots to the highest levels of decision-making because equality benefits us all. Studies have shown that gender equality is deeply linked to a steady, durable and economically healthy society. As a result, the UN has included it as one of its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which explains why we tackle gender inequality wherever we can.

Through our WICED International Research & Panel, we bring a global perspective to gender equality in the UK. Collaboration with international researchers, policymakers and practitioners ensures our work is informed by the latest evidence on what drives meaningful, lasting change for women.

We have spent years working with women and learning from their lived experiences to understand what is needed for women’s advancement. We channel that knowledge into everything we do, tackling inequality at all levels to build an equal society that works for everyone.
