The final week of Enterprise Hub’s Business Start Up Festival 2018 is upon us! The festival, starting on 22nd January, will give aspiring business starters the opportunity to learn more about what steps they should next take to make their business idea operational and increase their chances of success. Whether it’s planning, funding or marketing, the festival aims to inspire, educate and equip the business people of tomorrow.




The festival is open to anyone with an interest in starting their own business or becoming self-employed. Our partners across Liverpool, Wirral, Sefton, St Helens, Halton and Knowsley are hosting a number of free events across the Liverpool City Region.

Here’s what to expect in week three…

Tuesday 6th February

Event: Information & Networking Event with St Helens Chamber
Where: St Helens Chamber, Salisbury Street, Off Chalon Way, St Helens, WA10 1FY

A good opportunity to network and get information about starting up your business later on in the day. St Helens Chamber have helped hundreds of people pursue their dream of becoming their own boss.

Event: Find Out About Franchising and Business Start up
Where: Speke Education & Training Centre, Boulevard Business Park, Unit House, Speke, L24 9HZ

Speke Education & Training Centre’s work involves helping sustain regeneration in Merseyside, whether that be skills provision for unemployed people or promoting lifelong learning amongst the employed. Event: Inspiring Entrepreneurs Live Screening with BIPC
Where: Liverpool Central Library, William Brown Street, L3 8EW

A fantastic opportunity to hear from business owners who have experienced great online growth, becoming well known brands. This will be a live screening of talks with Tom Adeyoola, founder and CEO of Metail, Rikke Rosenlund, founder of BorrowMyDoggy, Karen Hanton MBE, founder of Toptable.com and Sara Murray, technology entrepreneur and founder of Buddi. Liverpool Central Library launched its Business and IP Centre in 2015; the service is based on the successful British Library model which provides access to free advice and support, giving people the opportunity to take advantage of free intellectual property and enhance their business expertise. Budding entrepreneurs can drop in on Thursday to utilise this service.

Friday 9th February

Event: Meet the Adviser Live Stream with Enterprise Hub

If you can’t attend any of the events, tune in for advice from the comfort of your phone. Every Friday of the festival there will be a Facebook Live Q&A with a selection of Enterprise Hub business advisers. Event: The Onion Drop in with Merseyside Expanding Horizons
Where: The Onion, 16 The Palatine, Bootle Strand Shopping Centre, L20 4SZ

Due to be repeated every Friday of the festival, Merseyside Expanding Horizons are skilled at bringing together voluntary, private and public sector agencies to encourage cross-sector working across a range of social projects. They have built a reputation as a ‘safe pair of hands’ for their work on numerous innovative projects on a local and national scale. The drop-in session will give you a chance to ask their representatives your questions.
