Bookkeeping

How to keep your books and your business running smoothly

For many start-ups, bookkeeping is the first hurdle they face, and it can be something of a challenge. Mistakes can be time-consuming, so it is worth knowing how to do everything in an organised and efficient way.

Our basic bookkeeping course gives you all the key strategies necessary to keep your own books, so you have the robust records you need to keep your business on track and fully compliant.

With our simple guidance you will be able to learn good habits that will serve you well into the future. Instead of being buried under a pile of receipts, you will be able to relax knowing everything is organised – and maybe save some money on accountancy fees too.

What does Basic Bookkeeping cover?

Basic Bookkeeping is a rigorous, half-day course covering everything you need to know around the current requirements of HMRC (Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs), when recording your accounts. Whatever your level of confidence in managing finances and working with numbers, we will explain how to create an easy to use recording system for your business accounts.

Alongside the importance of keeping your books properly, you will learn a wide set of skills to do so, from setting up a monthly or annual report to record your expenditures and outgoings to handy time-saving techniques. Over the course of the half-day session we will demystify everything, so you can feel confident filling in your own tax Self-Assessment and complying with HMRC standards, saving you from paying accountancy fees down the line.

Who is it for?

Basic Bookkeeping is open to any woman or man looking to understand the current requirements of HMRC.
