The Women’s Organisation is pleased to announce that we have received a grant from the Smallwood Trust as a Community Grant Partner. Over the next, 3 years, The Women’s Organisation will be dispersing hardship grants to financially vulnerable women.
The Community Grant Partnership is a core pillar of the Smallwood Trust’s mission to tackle gendered poverty in the UK and its commitment to shifting power to local organisations working closely with vulnerable women.
In particular, the Community Grant Partner Programme will help take away barriers for women who are unemployed and economically inactive in the Liverpool City Region, and who are facing difficulties that may impact them from achieving their full potential.
Sophia Kennedy, Head of Business Advice Plus said: “Being a Smallwood Trust Community Grant Partner has enabled us to support various clients through challenging situations and has made a real difference in their lives. We had a client who experienced financial difficulties, which was impacting on her and her child’s emotional and physical well-being, we were able to offer some relief via the Smallwood grant. This enabled her to start planning for her and her child’s future.”
We are looking forward to our continued relationship with Smallwood Trust and supporting more women in the Liverpool City Region.
