‘Here at the Women’s Organisation one of our values is collaboration, and we wouldn’t be able to work with the fantastic community organisations and charities in Liverpool that we do without our partner support team. They are the first point of contact with our partners, making sure they have everything they need, chasing paperwork, and keeping us all on track.
It’s no surprise that the team is growing, Christy & Ella have been with us for over three months now. They’ve slotted in perfectly, and have gotten stuck into supporting our partners, and we’re so glad to have them both on board. Find out more about Christy and Ella and why they joined The WO.’
What’s your full name and where are you from?
My name is Christy Bradley and I’m originally from a small town in Northern Ireland called Portrush but have recently moved to Liverpool.
Tell me how you first found out about The Women’s Organisation and became part of our team.
I first found out about The Women’s Organisation through indeed, I was planning on moving to Liverpool and needed to get a job before I could do so. Once I came across The Women’s Organisation, on indeed I did some research into the organisation and discovered how amazing it is.
What kind of things have you done prior to coming to The Women’s Organisation?
Before starting in The Women’s Organisation, I lived in Northern Ireland, working for the Northern Ireland Civil Service and volunteering as an RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) crew member at my local lifeboat station. I had been a member of the RNLI since the day I turned 17. Over the past few years, I have been over to Liverpool to visit my friends at university and just fell in love with the city every time I came over and knew I wanted to move to Liverpool. After my last visit, I started to get myself organised for my big move away.
What has surprised you about working at The Women’s Organisation?
Everybody in the organisation has been amazing in helping to get me settled in. When I started in The Women’s Organisation, I was very nervous, especially after just moving away from home, but everyone has been so lovely and helpful since I arrived which has helped me so much more than I could have imagined.
What’s the best thing about working at The Women’s Organisation so far?
There are so many great things about working in the organisation such as the other members of staff, the working environment and the continuous opportunity for training, but the best thing would be the pets in the office policy!
What might someone be surprised to know about you?
From a young age, I’ve always loved sports. I really took to two sports, karate and golf (yes, it is a sport) I am a black belt in karate and at 16 years old was selected for the Ireland team to compete in the world championships.
What are your top 3 favourite films?
I am a massive Star Wars and marvel nerd so I love everything Star Wars and marvel related but outside of them, I’d have to say my 3 favourite films would be Shutter Island, Grownups and The Karate Kid (the original).
What do you do when you aren’t working?
When I’m not working I will either be in the gym or just chilling with my flatmates. I’m still new to Liverpool so I love to get out and about to find new places I’ve never been to and maybe continue my search for the best pint of Guinness in Liverpool.
If you could change anything in the world, what would you change?
I would change the impact social media influencers have on young people and their mindsets. Not everything influencers do is completely true and can set false hope for a lot of their followers.

“It is what it is”
What’s your full name and where are you from?
My name is Ella Needham and I’m from Leeds.
Tell me how you first found out about The Women’s Organisation and become part of our team.
I was looking for a new job which was a better fit for my skills and interests. I found the Partner Support role advertised with Courtney Recruitment and applied right away. I felt very lucky to get an interview with a company that aligns so well with my beliefs, and even luckier when I got the job!
What kind of things have you done prior to coming to The Women’s Organisation?
Before coming to the WO, I studied English Literature and Philosophy at the University of Liverpool. While studying I was also working at TK Maxx (so if you need any help finding bargains, I know all the tricks of the trade). I got into admin work during my role as an Expert Liaison administrator for a company called The Treatment Network.
What has surprised you about working at The Women’s Organisation?
I have been pleasantly surprised by just how supportive everybody is! I really feel like part of a bigger team which is really helping people.

Everyone has been so friendly and welcoming. I love the environment and atmosphere in the office.
What might (someone) be surprised to know about you?
I am a huge musical theatre geek, but I am terrible at singing. I recently brought the 4th version of Les Miserables on DVD and it’s an active battle not to spend all of my wage on theatre tickets.
What are your top 3 favourite films?
Children of Men, Stardust and Pride (2012)
What do you do when you aren’t working?
When I’m not working you can usually find me doing some activity or another, I feel like I always have too many plans! I really enjoy playing board games and tabletop RPGs with my friends, and I am an avid writer. When I have a moment to rest (usually on the train to either Leeds or London to visit family) you can find me reading, knitting/crocheting, or playing Animal Crossing on my switch.
If you could change anything in the world, what would you change?
I would change many things about the world, but I would most like for people to be kinder to one another. I feel that we can make the world a bit better every day by just being kind and respectful.
What’s your favourite quote?
“At times the world may seem an unfriendly and sinister place but believe that there is much more good in it than bad. All you have to do is look hard enough. and what might seem to be a series of unfortunate events may in fact be the first steps of a journey.” – Lemony Snicket
