After joining Leonard Curtis in June 2017\, Lisa qualified as a licensed insolvency practitioner and the following year was promoted to Associate Director. Lisa’s legal and technical knowledge enables her and the team to keep up to date with the frequent changes to UK insolvency and company law. \n \nDonna Crompton \nDirector\, Leonard Curtis Business Solutions Group \n\n\n\nBecoming the first female Director of Leonard Curtis Business Solutions Group in 2018\, Donna Crompton has 22 years’ experience of business restructuring and recovery. Starting initially in accountancy roles following her degree\, and like many people who end up working in insolvency\, it was a natural progression to move into this sector. Donna’s background allows her to relate to the many accountants who refer work to Leonard Curtis and has enabled her to manage the Liverpool office amd progress to opening a new office based in Chester.\n \n\n \nPeter Waller-Flynn\, \nDirector\, Privilege HR \n\n\n\nPeter has worked all over the World as an HR Director; getting involved in amazing projects such as setting up Marks & Spencer in France; developing the M&S Simply Food stores; developing a global outsourcing model as well as supporting a Mental Health charity in the Gambia amongst other things. From very early on in his career\, it became apparent that it was the people in a business that really make the difference and help it to grow. If you then add-in a diversity of colleagues\, that’s when cultural change really begins and businesses flourish and prosper!\n \n\nWith this in mind\, Peter and his business partner and set up PrivilegeHR three years ago. They recognised that businesses of all sizes didn’t always have access to top quality HR support. Someone at the end of a phone offering employment advice doesn’t always help you recruit the best person into a role\, or ensure that your policies and handbook reflect your business’ specific operational needs and culture. Similarly when things get tough and there are complex people challenges\, PrivilegeHR never under-estimate how re-assuring it is to have someone sitting next to you going through the best options for your business and talking you through the process (even if they are socially distanced!!). With over 100 clients of all sizes and in all sectors\, PrivilegeHR prides itself on offering a practical outsourced HR function to your business on an on-going basis or as a one-off piece of work. \n\n\n& hosted by\, Jacqueline Daley\, Business Advisor at The Women’s Organisation \nYou can submit your questions ahead of time to hello@thewo.org.uk\, or by using the Live Chat feature on Zoom. \nTo support business-owners during the coronavirus pandemic\, The Women’s Organisation has launched #RapidResponse – a series of webinars supporting you to survive\, capitalise on opportunities and maintain momentum. \nHear from industry leaders and thought experts over the coming weeks covering a range of topics\, including accessing finance\, promotion and marketing\, innovation\, and well-being.

SUMMARY:Change It Renew : Champions Of Change
DESCRIPTION:Come & hear the inspirational stories of our champions of change\, learn how they coped\, & find out how you can become a champion of change.\n\n\n\nChampions of Change \nWednesday 28th October – 11:00 am – 12:30 pm Via Zoom \nThese women are champions of change. \nThey have shown incredible resilience\, determination\, and commitment. Between them\, they faced personal challenges and found the strength to channel their energy in a positive direction and make the sort of changes that significantly improve lives. \nFrances Molloy \n Frances experienced the heart-breaking tragedy of losing a child when her son\, Michael\, was killed in a crash while traveling back from the Bestival music festival in September 2012. It was her desire to get justice for her son which inspired her to launch the Tyred Campaign. She vowed never to stop until there was a change in the law: “To give up would be saying it was okay that Michael was killed. And it wasn’t.” Her resolve garnered local and national support and her campaign has taken her to parliament. In July\, the government announced a ban on old bus and lorry tyres from roads. Announcing the law change\, Roads Minister Baroness Vere said it had come about as the result of Frances Molloy’s “years of campaigning”. \nCynthia Monteverde \nCynthia is the Founder/Director of Betterdays Homes for Domestic Violence. Having seen the effects of domestic violence on families and children throughout her career\, the passion to do something positive and make a change drove dynamic Cynthia Monteverde to take action. With financial support from a friend\, she worked to set up ‘Betterdays Homes’ shelter for women and their children who are victims of domestic violence. Cynthia said\, “I have been through domestic violence myself in my early years. Then working at a children’s home in 1993 I realised it was not just the woman affected by domestic violence.” Her work is changing the lives of women by enabling them to break away from abusive relationships and giving them a safe space to create a better future for themselves and their children. \nThese are two exceptional women and their message is that you also have the power to make a difference; it could be in your own life or maybe transforming the lives of others. Hear their inspirational stories\, learn how they coped\, and find out how you can become a champion of change. \n‘Change It: Renew’ a programme of support to help women across the Liverpool City Region to improve their resilience\, coping mechanisms\, and mental wellbeing. \nFor more information or to book a place on this course\, please contact our engagement team at 0151 706 8111 or email hello@thewo.org.uk
